Shri Chiranji Lal Agrawal is the Chairman of MC Group. He has been widely regarded as one of the leading business personalities of Nepal for his long and deep experience of doing business in Nepal for the last seven decades as well as for his moral integrity and character. His experience spans a wide range of industries including construction, manufacturing, mining and bottling. In addition to his work with MC Group, he was the founder of Siddhartha Bank, where he was the Chairman for the first 15 years since its inception in 2002. Siddhartha Bank today has become one of the largest commercial banks in the country whose shares are publicly traded as an ‘A’ category company in Nepal Stock Exchange.

Shri Chiranji Lal Agrawal was born in Dharan, Nepal. He graduated from the prestigious St. Xavier’s College, Calcutta and started his business career at an early age. He has widely travelled around the globe and has also been deeply involved with business, cultural and philanthropic organizations in Nepal. He contributed significantly to the formation of SAARC Chamber, where he was a member of the Executive Committee from Nepal, as well as being involved in in creating the vision and realty of South Asian Free Trade Area (SAFTA) and SAPTA. He served as the President of Nepali Marwari Parishad and the first Vice President of Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI) and Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI).

Shri Chiranji Lal Agrawal has been conferred with two of the highest civilian awards given by the Government of Nepal: the “Suprasidha Gorkha Dakshin Bahu” and the “Tri Shakti Patta”. He has also been presented the Lifetime Achievement Award for Business Leadership in 2016 by The New Business Age, an award adjudicated by the three largest business association of the country: FNCCI, CNI and NCC as well as the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Nepal Chamber of Commerce in 2019.
